Your Dog Deserves More Than a Basic Bath

Dog grooming in the Phoenix metro area has come a long way. Pet owners across Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, and beyond now expect more than a quick rinse and trim. They want a full, pampering experience for their beloved companions.

At Lugari Pet Salon, we believe every pet deserves celebrity care. Founded by master groomer Ivan Lugo, who has been styling pets since 1998, our Scottsdale salon brings luxury dog grooming to the greater Phoenix community. We treat every dog like a star the moment they walk through our door.

Whether your pup needs a signature haircut, a relaxing bath and brush, or a full spa day, we have you covered. Keep reading to discover what luxury dog grooming really looks like — and why so many Phoenix-area pet owners make the drive to see us.

What Sets Luxury Dog Grooming Apart

Not all grooming salons are the same. Standard grooming may cover the basics, but luxury grooming goes much further. It focuses on the whole pet — their comfort, coat health, and overall well-being.

At Lugari Pet Salon, luxury means personalized attention for every dog. Our team takes time to understand each pet’s unique coat type, temperament, and styling needs before we begin.

Signature Styling and Japanese-Inspired Cuts

Our salon offers two signature styling approaches: the classic Lugari style and the increasingly popular Japanese grooming style. Japanese-style grooming focuses on soft, rounded shapes and a clean, polished finish. It has become a favorite among Scottsdale pet owners who love an elegant, show-quality look.

Both styles require skill, patience, and an experienced eye. Master groomer Ivan Lugo brings decades of expertise to every appointment. As a result, your dog leaves looking — and feeling — their very best.

Beyond the Haircut: Full Pampering Services

Luxury grooming is about more than just a stylish cut. Therefore, we offer a full menu of pampering services, including:

• Bath and brush — deep cleaning with premium products suited to your dog’s coat
• Manicures and pedicures — nail trimming and shaping for comfort and health
• Nail polish — a fun, pet-safe finishing touch
• Hair coloring — vibrant, safe color for dogs who love to stand out
• De-shedding treatments — especially valuable for Phoenix’s warm desert climate

Each service is designed to keep your dog comfortable, healthy, and looking their best year-round.

Why Desert Living Makes Grooming Even More Important

Living in the Scottsdale and Phoenix area comes with a unique set of pet care challenges. The desert heat is intense, especially in the summer months. Because of this, regular grooming is not just about looks — it is a health and comfort necessity.

Hot Arizona summers can cause dogs to overheat quickly. A well-maintained coat helps regulate body temperature more effectively. Additionally, desert dust, allergens, and dry air can irritate your dog’s skin and coat between groomings.

Coat Health and Shedding Control in the Arizona Heat

Many breeds that are popular in the Scottsdale area — like Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, and Labrador Retrievers — shed heavily. Furthermore, seasonal shedding can feel never-ending in a warm desert climate. Regular professional grooming helps manage shedding and keeps your home cleaner.

Our bath and brush service is a favorite for high-shedding breeds. We use professional de-shedding techniques that go far beyond what a standard home brush can achieve. As a result, many of our clients notice a dramatic reduction in loose fur after just one session.

Breed-Specific Grooming for Every Dog

Every breed has unique grooming needs. For example, a Poodle requires very different care than a Shih Tzu or a Husky. Our team understands these differences and tailors every appointment accordingly.

We work with dogs of all sizes, from tiny Chihuahuas to large breeds like Bernese Mountain Dogs. Moreover, we take extra care with dogs that have anxiety around grooming. Our calm, patient approach helps nervous pets feel safe and relaxed throughout the entire process.

Dog Daycare and Socialization at Lugari Pet Salon

Luxury grooming is just one part of what we offer. In addition, Lugari Pet Salon provides dog daycare and socialization services for pets who need structured activity and companionship during the day.

Socialization is vital for a well-adjusted, happy dog. Meanwhile, daycare gives working pet owners peace of mind knowing their pup is in safe, caring hands. Our daycare environment is warm, supervised, and designed to help dogs thrive socially.

Pet Events, Parties, and Workshops

We also host pet events, including parties and grooming workshops, throughout the year. These events are a wonderful way to connect with other Scottsdale pet owners and learn more about caring for your dog. On Sundays, we open by special events only — so keep an eye out for upcoming happenings at our salon.

Follow us for announcements about upcoming pet events in the Scottsdale area. They fill up quickly, so early registration is always a good idea.

The Lugari Difference: Master Grooming Since 1998

What truly separates Lugari Pet Salon from other dog grooming options in the Phoenix area is experience. Ivan Lugo has been a professional groomer for over two decades. He opened Lugari Pet Salon in August 2017 with a clear mission: foster a better relationship between pets and their owners through honest communication and exceptional care.

That mission shows in everything we do. We take time to talk with each pet owner about their dog’s coat condition, lifestyle, and grooming goals. Then, we craft a grooming plan that fits those needs perfectly. Furthermore, we keep pet owners informed throughout the process so there are never any surprises.

Our motto says it all — every pet deserves celebrity care. We live by that standard every single day.

Frequently Asked Questions About Luxury Dog Grooming in Scottsdale

How often should I bring my dog in for professional grooming?

Most dogs benefit from professional grooming every four to six weeks. However, the ideal frequency depends on your dog’s breed, coat type, and lifestyle. Dogs with longer or thicker coats may need more frequent visits. Our team can recommend a grooming schedule that works best for your specific pet.

Is luxury dog grooming suitable for anxious or nervous dogs?

Absolutely. In fact, a calm, patient grooming environment can make a significant difference for anxious dogs. At Lugari Pet Salon, we take a gentle, reassuring approach with every pet. Many nervous dogs that visit us become noticeably more relaxed over time as they build trust with our team.

Do you offer grooming for cats as well?

Yes, we do! Lugari Pet Salon offers professional cat grooming services in addition to our dog grooming menu. Cats have very different grooming needs, and our experienced team handles them with the same care and expertise we give to every canine client.

What is Japanese-style dog grooming?

Japanese-style grooming is a precision technique that emphasizes soft, rounded shapes and an extremely clean, polished finish. It often gives dogs a cute, plush, almost stuffed-animal appearance. This style has grown very popular among Scottsdale and Phoenix pet owners who want something a little more unique and eye-catching for their pets.

Can I request hair coloring or nail polish for my dog?

Yes! We offer pet-safe hair coloring and nail polish as part of our luxury grooming menu. These are great options for pet owners who want to add a fun, personalized touch to their dog’s look. All products we use are formulated specifically for pets and applied with care.
