In Scottsdale, where luxury living meets an active, outdoor lifestyle, large breed dogs are beloved companions and members of the family. From Golden Retrievers and Labradors to Bernese Mountain Dogs and Standard Poodles, these majestic pets deserve expert grooming tailored to their size, coat type, and temperament. At Lugari Pet Salon, we specialize in providing premium dog grooming services for large breeds, delivering comfort, cleanliness, and style with every appointment.

Why Large Breeds Require Specialized Grooming

Grooming large breed dogs comes with unique challenges and rewards. Their size, coat volume, and physical needs require skilled handling, professional-grade equipment, and experienced groomers. At Lugari Pet Salon, our large breed grooming services offer:

• Thorough bathing with high-pressure, warm water systems
• Coat-specific shampoos to treat thick, double coats or sensitive skin
• De-shedding treatments for heavy seasonal shedders
• Extra time and care to manage larger frames and potential mobility issues
• Breed-specific trims for show-quality results or comfort-focused styles

We ensure your large dog receives the time, space, and attention needed for a safe and luxurious grooming experience. Grooming a large dog isn’t just about appearance—it’s about health, comfort, and peace of mind. These dogs often require more frequent grooming to manage shedding, avoid matting, and keep their coats clean and free of irritants picked up during outdoor play.

Additionally, large dogs may experience joint discomfort, especially in older age, which means they need gentle handling during grooming. Our expert groomers are trained to provide support and comfort, creating a stress-free environment where your dog can feel at ease.

Full-Service Grooming Tailored to Larger Dogs

Our grooming services for large breeds include:

• Deep-cleansing baths with massaging techniques
• Blow drying and brush-outs with de-matting if necessary
• Coat trimming or full-body haircut
• Nail clipping and filing
• Ear cleaning and hair removal
• Pet teeth cleaning to promote oral hygiene
• Anal gland expression

Each appointment is carefully designed to suit your dog’s individual needs. Whether you want a functional summer cut for your Labrador or a breed-standard trim for your Standard Poodle, we ensure every detail is executed with precision and care. We also use high-end grooming tools and premium products to nourish your dog’s coat and skin.

Health Benefits of Grooming for Large Breeds

Regular grooming is essential for maintaining the health and comfort of large dogs. Benefits include:

• Improved skin and coat health
• Reduced shedding and matting
• Early detection of lumps, parasites, or skin issues
• Cleaner ears and healthier teeth
• Relief from seasonal allergies and overheating

Because of their size and dense coats, large breed dogs are at greater risk for overheating in warm weather, particularly in a sunny climate like Scottsdale. Regular brushing and coat maintenance helps prevent heat retention while keeping your dog clean and comfortable.

Teeth cleaning is another key component of our grooming services. Dental disease is common in all breeds, and large dogs are no exception. Our gentle, non-invasive pet teeth cleaning helps maintain fresh breath and prevent long-term dental problems.
